Artist Biography

Tameri Bushra (b. 1996, Los Angeles) is a first-generation Egyptian-American painter and illustrator whose practice aims to externalize the internal world. With techniques inspired by surrealism and forms influenced by the organic, her personal work bridges the visceral tension between attraction and repulsion while exploring different facets of mind, body, and spirit. Always meaningful but never serious, the work utilizes symbolism, satire, and intuition in its pursuit of truth.

Bushra received her Bachelor of Fine Arts at UCLA in 2018. She has since worked as a commission painter and freelance illustrator, with experience in storyboarding, character design, and direct representation.
